Select exactly what the new PDF needs
Extraction is useful when a recipient needs one coherent subset rather than the complete source: a contract section, several evidence pages, a chapter, or the relevant sheets from a scan. Select thumbnails directly for visual work, enter ranges for known page numbers, or begin with odd, even, first, or last-page presets. Inverting a selection is often the quickest way to keep almost everything except a few pages. Choose source order when the result should follow the original document, or visible order when you deliberately rearranged the workspace first.
Check whether the number printed on a page matches its position in the PDF; covers and unnumbered introductions often create an offset. Range input refers to PDF positions shown by the tool, not necessarily printed folio numbers. Extraction produces one result, preserving the selected pages as PDF objects rather than rasterized pictures. Document-level features can still depend on pages that were not copied, so review bookmarks, cross-references, form behavior, signatures, and accessibility structure. If each range should become a separate named file, use Split and inspect its output groups instead.
Name the result for its subject rather than its original page range when other people will receive it. The visible selection count and final local validation provide two useful checkpoints before download, but the sender remains responsible for confirming that no required or sensitive page was included by mistake.
